A fast and convenient unattended kiosk facial recognition solution

AWS Rekognition
Image and video recognition

When a face is captured, the system extracts facial feature vectors (numerical data such as eyes, nose, and facial contours) and compares them with registered data to verify the user's identity.

Vector-Based Facial Data Processing
Facial characteristics (eyes, nose, contours, proportions) are converted into numerical vector data and stored
  • Original facial images are not retained, minimizing the risk of personal data leakage
  • Upon account deletion, facial vector data is automatically and immediately removed, with deletion logs verifiable via AWS CloudTrail

A self-service check-in solution that uses facial recognition as an identity verification method

  • WGMS does not store original facial images and ensures privacy protection and anti-tampering through E2E encryption
  • E2E Encryption: All data is encrypted across the entire transmission path from the kiosk to AWS preventing interception or misuse during data transfer

Facial Recognition Process

  • Captured facial images are converted into vectorized feature data and registered in the AWS cloud
  • A unique Face ID is generated

No Storage of Personal Biometric Data
  • Facial images captured are linked only to WGMS member information
  • Explicit user consent for personal data processing is required
Encrypted Data Transmission
  • E2E encryption applied between the kiosk and AWS (WGMS acts as a secure intermediary)
  • TLS 1.2 or higher applied across the entire path (Kiosk–WGMS–AWS) to prevent eavesdropping and tampering
